Short Description: Medical Administrators manage staff, handle finances, and ensure regulatory compliance for healthcare facilities. This is a vital role, a position at the center of hospitals, clinics, and doctor’s offices. The average administrator at the entry level, sometimes called an administrator assistant, has a median salary of $42,000 per year. Administrators with experience who have advanced to management positions have an average salary of $95,000 per year. This field is expanding rapidly with a 17% per year growth, showing a high demand for professionals in this field.
What’s in this program? This program prepares you for the entry level position as a medical administrator. You’ll learn the interpersonal and clinical skills necessary in the Medical Administrative Assistant section. Then the program will cover in detail the skills needed to handle the "paperwork" part of administration, training you in the skills of an Electronic Health Records Specialist. Lastly this program will go through all the Medical and Billing codes for ICD-9 and ICD-10 giving you an introduction to the knowledge and skills of a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist.
NOTE: the specialized software provided for this program does not yet work on a Mac.

Instructor Description: This course provides students with certified, skilled facilitators to guide them through their learning experience. Facilitators who are well trained in a unique mastery methodology and provide one-on-one instruction to their students to ensure mastery of the course material. The course facilitator is available to answer any questions a learner may have including questions on course content, course material, certifications, and even industry questions. Facilitators also monitor the progress of learners to ensure training retention and program advancement.

Certification: Upon successful completion of this program students will be prepared to sit for the National Health Career Association (NHA) national certification examinations for a Billing and Coding Specialists (CBCS), Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA), and Certified Electronic Health Records Specialists (CEHRS).
Each state may have additional licensing requirements, be sure to research your states requirements for employment by visiting your states occupation board.
