Short Description: Pipefitters are responsible for assembling and installing pipe systems, pipe supports, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. In this program you will explore the typical applications of various types of pumps, learn the factors that affect pump selection, discuss the piping and tubing systems used for fluid transport such as hydraulic fluids, steam, and refrigerant, and much more. This field extends into a wide range of industries from residential and non residential building construction to manufacturing plant maintenance. With an average salary range between $40,000-$60,000, this area of study will provide you with a rewarding, in demand career outlook. Upon successful completion of this program, you will be prepared to pursue an entry level career in pipefitting, plumbing, or steam fitting.
