Judith Present's play, "First Ladies" gives wives a chance to tell their stories. First wives are never voted for, nor do they get paid; yet without them our presidents would falter. Accompanied by music and costumes of the period they will describe the political, economic and social environments that shaped them. They will connect the past in a way that helps to explain historical events. The Ladies will give an honest assessment of who they are, their true feelings and secrets. Come and listen to Dolley Madison, Mary Todd Lincoln, Lady Bird Johnson, Mamie Eisenhower, and Nancy Reagan. A High Tea will be included in the class.
