: Healthcare Fundamentals is a course that provides a professional understanding of patient care in a variety of healthcare settings. This course begins by giving an overview of the history and theory of delivering healthcare. It then dives deeper to explain the principles & methods of both quality improvement and etiquette within the modern healthcare environment. Learners will then be assessed on how to apply these principles and methods within both clinical and administrative healthcare environments.
Upon completion of this course learners will be able to demonstrate an understanding and overview of the development and service requirements of healthcare settings. Students will also be able to discern between the different settings of clinical and administrative environments. Application of principles and methods of etiquette and healthcare will include a variety of topics: what annoys patients most about their healthcare service and how to address them, the attention and detail given to their concerns, representation of website and office materials, as well as time management skills and the proper use of technology.
