The mysterious world of ancient Egypt has exerted an enduring fascination like few other cultures.  We'll highlight such notable figures as the heretic king Akhenaten, the successful female pharoah Hatsheput, and Tutankhamun, the boy whose glorious tomb brought him a chance fame that overshadowed much greater pharoahs. The daily life (and eternal afterlife) of ancient Egyptians will be explored.  After our themed lunch, we'll write in hieroglyphics, fashion pendants and ceremonial percussion instruments called sistrums, and maybe even feed some hungry hippos!
